Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
After two singles ‘Diane Young and Step’, Vampire Weekend finally release their new album ‘Modern Vampires of the City’. American actor Steve Buscemi is a big fan of their music and will direct the live stream of their concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on April 28 which will be available via youtube. Buscemi is also directing live documentary footage of the band. Only recently the director joined the group on the Easter Parade through the streets of New York, starting from 5th Avenue, and together they sang ‘Diane Young’ to the cheering crowd, dressed in crazy bunny outfits and throwing chocolate eggs.
Their collaboration is planned to last a while and will probably involve other shows scheduled for their ‘Modern Vampires of the City’ tour. The album continues to detail the band’s fascination with New York, the center of their artistic universe, the lyrics written and performed by singer Ezra Koenig surfing on the sounds inspired by the city. Koenig also recently starred in an episode of successful TV series ‘Girls’ and appears on the recent ‘Jessica’, by Major Lazer.
After the release of the album, the group will begin a long tour, on May 8 in London (The Troxy) and May 9 Paris (Casino de Paris).
