A year has passed and something really big is being cooked again in Barcelona. Sónar festival is going to pull the trigger in a few hours and it seems as if all the preparations are in place. One of the most popular festivals in this Spanish city has arrived back to its birth place after a long journey all over the world. Sao Paulo, Tokyo and Cape Town experienced the vibrations and the rhythm of advanced music and multimedia art. In fact, Sónar has already built up its international reputation and this is going to be its 19th edition. More than 150 musical and artistic proposals are planned for all kind of public. The musical program is going to get together essential classics, new electronic music and a wide offer of house, contemporary electronic pop and many diversification of bass music. Moreover, audio-visuals shows stand out with an impeccable scenography. Sónar 2012 has prepared two meeting points: one of them is located in CCCB-MACBA zone and the other one in Fira Gran Via. In total, there are 7 stages to live the music all day and night long.

You can not miss The British New Order, one of the most influential bands of the history of music and pioneers of the electronic music; the South African Die Antwoord who are going to be again on Sónar stage to present their new album Tens$ion; the wisest scratching of James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem); the most sensitive pop of the British Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs; the new house project of Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), The 2 Bears; the most popular duet from Barcelona, Pegasvs; the mythical Fatboy Slim with his big beat; James Blake as a deejay; the quartet Azari & III; the music sensation of the year, Lana del Rey, with her hypnotic and melancholic alternative pop; Spanish proposals as Lenticular, Clouds, Lolo & Sosaku or Esperit!, among others. The festival also bets all its efforts on shows with important visual impact. This is the case of Amon Tobin, Deadmau5, Squarepusher, Modeselektor and so on.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the festival is the wide offer of art exhibitions. It will be possible to visit CCCB, MACBA, Mies van der Rohe foundation, CosmoCaixa and Mutt Gallery which will allow the public to relax after party. Sónar has prepared three days of music and art and the sky seems to be the limit.
