Scala & Kolacny Brothers

Probably the most famous rock choir in the world, more than just a novelty, Belgium’s Scala & Kolacny Brothers have made classics like Radiohead’s Creep their own. Since 1996 the 200-strong womens choir, conducted by Stijn Kolacny and accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano, has been reinterpreting hits by a wide range of artists like U2, Coldplay, Nirvana and Oasis. Renowned for their musical rigor, the singers have managed to introduce choral music to a new audience. Now, thanks to demand from their friends on Facebook they have decided to launch an alternative Christmas album, featuring a collection of winter songs including River by Joni Mitchell, Let Me Sleep by Pearl Jam, 2000 Miles by the Pretenders and many more

December is out now. The Scala & Kolacny Brothers will perform on 7 and 8 December at Kesselhaus, Berlin.
