RZA & The Man with the Iron Fists
The Wu Tang Clan eminence grisemakes his debut as director with this Quentin Tarrantino-produced martial arts movie ‘The Man with the Iron Fists’. Of course its no surprise that RZA has moved into movies given his own visionary career and the rich creative legacy of the Clan. The film promises to be a thrilling, vivid ride into all things martial arts not least because the Clan has long admired the kung fu ethos. RZA asked fellow members of the Clan, whose groundbreaking vision has redefined modern music, to contribute to the soundtrack which stands to be a classic. But it’s not only the brilliance of RZA and his fellow Clan members on offer, following the example of Tarrantino the director has drawn on some of today’s most outstanding performers.
Along with Kanye West, who adds a texture to the sound, there’s MOP and Pharoahe Monch, Ghostface Killah in Black Out and even blues rock band the Black Keys, who perform with RZA himself.
