Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
They are the most influential movers of the American hip hop scene: André 3000 and Big Boi, together – OutKast. They have transformed urban culture and for 20 years have given birth to masterpieces of underground poetry underpinned by electronica. And in the best way to celebrate this anniversary the two artists have come up with a unique reunion this spring on the festival stage. After the announcement of their participation at the Coachella Festival, another 40 dates have been announced.
“It’s an honour”, said Big Boi, “to be on the scene for 20 years and still have the opportunity to play the kind of music you want, that best expresses our creativity.” André 3000 added: “Rap is our life, playing for our audience is what we want.” The tour will start at Coachella on April 11. Also look out for them at the Governors Ball from 6 to 8 June in New York.
