Nile Rodgers

The global success of Daft Punk with their latest album ‘Random Access Memories’ and the single ‘Get Lucky’ with its unforgettable Nile Rodgers guitar riff proves disco is neither down nor out – in fact it is back in triumph. And Chic, the legendary band of Rodgers, who with songs like ‘Good Times’ inspired hip-hop (‘Rapper’s Delight’ by the Sugarhill Gang bounces above the Rodgers track) has returned to the spotlight. Rodgers has revealed the French duo who have taken such a shine to him are also interested in his Chic years.

‘Daft Punk, said guitarist, ‘would like to work with me on at least one song written in those years.’

Meanwhile Rodgers has released a double collection ‘The Chic Organization’. ‘Up All Night’ with his greatest hits and more – not just the likes of ‘Le Freak’ and ‘Good Times’, but also some of his collaborations with the stars like ‘Upside Down’ and ‘My Old Piano’ with Diana Ross, ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Got To Love Somebody’ with Sister Sledge, plus tracks with Debbie Harry, Sheila & B.Devotion and many other disco classics that, thanks in part to Daft Punk, are likely to be once more filling a dance floor near you.
