Monegros Desert Festival

Amid a desert made famous by the spaghetti westerns of the 1970s, when Spain stood in for New Mexico and Clint Eastwood chomped on a cheroot as the Man With No Name, now a different art form flowers.  The Monegros Desert Festival (taking place on 21st of July) is 24 hours of the very best in international electronic music including masters of French house like Laurent Garnier, minimalist Germans like Loco Dice, Iranian-American Dubfire, Spanish Paco Osuna, and Italian electro superstars, The Bloody Beetroots. But the real attraction, one that makes the Monegros Desert Festival one of the must-sees this summer, is the appearance of Legends of Wu, the “back to the road” name of the truly legendary Wu Tang Clan. Method Man, Ghostface Killa, Raekwon, GZA, and their many guests will take us in to the “factory” of New York’s urban poetry, transforming the desert once again into an unlikely stand-in for America.
