Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
An extraordinarily eclectic artist, Moby is one of the most sophisticated interpreters of international electronic music – in the vanguard of those who have re-shaped dance. After a long wait, the American maestro returns with a new album due out later this summer. ‘Innocents’ will feature a number of impressive collaborators including Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips, Mark Lanegan of Cold Specks and many others. ‘These musicians,’Moby said, ‘were not only guests – they helped shape ‘Innocents’, bringing together my and their creativity.’
‘Innocents’ is also the theme of the album which explores the fragility of people and relationships, underlined by the synthesis of retro musical styles (including blues) with electronic music. The first single will be ‘A Case For Shame’, featuring Cold Specks.
The album will be showcased in three concerts in Los Angeles – venue as yet unknown but Moby has suggested it could be just a short walk away from his home…
