Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
‘Limited editions’ are in fashion these days. They particularly work to sustain an artist’s profile over the long term – witness Daft Punk’s approach. Now we have Goldfrapp, aka sensual songstress Alison Goldfrapp, with the box set from her latest album ‘Tales Of Us’. In addition to the CDs, the package will contain a disc with a series of remixes and live versions of the songs, including three tracks recorded at the Manchester International Festival with a choir and orchestra.
There will also be a DVD with a documentary about the making of the disc and a number of short films inspired by the songs of the album. In addition, there will be a book with illustrations by Goldfrapp, testifying to her quality as an all-round “artist”. The singer actually alternates the success of her band with art galleries. In fact until March she is curating a show exploring her influences at The Lowry gallery in Salford.
