Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
There’s a wealth of musical talent in the England of 2013 but there are not many acts that give you more bangs for your bucks than sibling duo Guy and Howard Lawrence, aka Disclosure. Rising out of the soul, house and garage scene, the brothers are known for working with an ever-changing line-up of guests, moving the territory of dubstep in to pop, softening its rhythms with the force of a dreamy melody. And after a string of hit singles, they have now announced the release of their first album, ‘Settle’.
To mark the announcement they have released a new single ‘You & Me’ with vocals by UK pop star Eliza Doolittle, a singer seemingly far removed from the avant-garde vibe of Disclosure and guaranteed to introduce them to a wider audience. Doolittle’s “light” vocals strike a bold contrast against the duo’s electronic soundscape. She had her work cut out if she wanted to compete with Disclosure’s remix of the gorgeous ‘Running’ by new soul diva Jesse Ware, but she pulls it off with aplomb. The duo debuted in 2010 with dubstep classic ‘Offline Dexterity’ followed by ‘Latch’ and ‘White Noise’. Their new album ‘Settle’ has just been released.
