The new edition of the festival has been confirmed for September 4 to 7
Deadmau5 @ iTunes Festival
Along with Emeli Sande, one of the most anticipated acts to appear at the iTunes Festival in London this September is a cartoon mouse with huge ears. Yes, it’s Deadmau5. Yet the Candian artist, known for performing in a huge mouse head – or Mau5head as he calls it – is no mere dance mouse. He manages to craft genre-warping tracks that combine the sounds of scratchy electro-rock with the abstract perfection of the dance floor. Deadmau5 live can reach truly transcendental heights, the audience, not the mau5, left centre-stage, dazed by lazers, holograms and projections. Watch the video for his new single, Professional Griefers, and you can see that same amibition: an epic adventure Mad Max stylee. The track itself, with vocals by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, will plainly appeal to fans of rock as much as dance. At the London concert, Deadmau5 is expected to preview his forthcoming CD Album Title Goes Here, which as well as rock has elements of hip hop and classical and includes guests Cypress Hill and Imogen Heap. The Itunes Festival includes: Emili Sande (5), Elbow (7), Jack White (8), Deadmau5 (9), Norah Jones and Beth Orton (10), The Killers (11), Pink (13), Matchbox 20 (19), Mumford and Sons (24), Lana Del Rey (25), Alicia Keys (28), Hot Chip (29), Muse (30).
