Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
“I wanted to do disco.I wanted to do rock.”
Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington are Darkside, who have synthesised their two very different disciplines to create an electrifying tension on the dance floor. Hence the excitement brewing over their debut album, ‘Psychic’, the product of an extraordinary collaboration between “wonder boy’” of contemporary dance, Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington, that has produced a kind of “cosmic rock”. It’s a work of extraordinary depth and design which draws the listener in from the beginning, a heady cocktail of nature and technology, wide open spaces and urbanity.
Jaar and Harrington are one of the most interesting workshops of the moment, recently making a splash with their full-length remix of Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’, which received three million listens over the summer, and the New York launch part for ‘Psychic’ which is already the stuff of legend.
