Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
Damon Albarn is a natural born British talent, able to combine the power of rock with the sentimentality of soul. His passion for novelty has delighted listeners with constant invention, beginning with his first band Blur, who in the 90s created BritPop alongside Oasis, and then the consistently creative Gorillaz. Now, after a few albums inspired by the sounds of Africa, Albarn is back with his new album ‘Everyday Robots’.
‘Everyday Robots’ emphasises the ‘African American’, maintaining a soulful vibe while also nodding back to past work with Blur. Albarn states the album has a strong ‘folk soul’ feel which, with its roots in blues and gospel, has had such an impact over recent years. Look forward to ‘Everyday Robots’ being introduced live this year at festivals including New York’s Governors Ball.
