The new edition of the festival has been confirmed for September 4 to 7
If there’s one open air contemporary festival that has that famous Californian flower power vibe it’s got to be Coachella. This year we can look forward to two weekends of total immersion in some of the best sounds of yesterday and tomorrow. On April 12 – 14 and 19 – 21 the wide open spaces of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will be resonating with repetitive beats and rock and roll. We’re still waiting for it to be confirmed, but there’s talk of an appearance by groundbreaking French electro duo Daft Punk, who are soon due to release their new album. Then there’s likely to be the Stone Roses, whose overwhelming live sound rolls between psychedelic rock and dance floor direct from the smoking soul of bygone ‘Madchester’, birthplace of fellow rock-dance pioneers New Order. We’re also looking forward to the best of Britpop with Blur along with more up-to-date acts The XX, Tame Impala, Seth Troxler and many more.
There will also be an opportunity to experience the raw energy and poetic force of the Wu Tang Clan, legends of hip hop, in a rare performance that will showcase their magnificence.
