If there’s one open air contemporary festival that has that famous Californian flower power vibe it’s got to be Coachella
Bring out your party beast at Bestival
What a way to say goodbye to the summer – at one of Europe’s biggest festivals with some of the world’s greatest acts. Between September 6 and 9, Bestival at the Isle of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park will headline the likes of New Order, Sigur Ros, The XX, Florence and the Machine, Orbital and on Sunday the legendary Stevie Wonder.
Says organiser Rob da Bank: “What can I say? What a day! I see part of my job at Bestival as giving you acts you may never have seen or will get the chance to see again… so, I’m hoping you feel as happy as I do as we announce the legendary Stevie Wonder as Sunday night headliner! “A winner of 25 Grammy Awards, the most ever for a solo artist, this man’s music has always been part of the da Bank home listening experience and also a favourite at our Sunday Best and Bestival parties and this is a very rare chance to see a legend in action. See you there!”
Bestival, at the site of a concert in the 1960s that rivalled Woodstock, boasts more than 20 stages and 300 acts including 80’s Electro guru Gary Newman, Hot Chip, Friendly Fires, Two Door Cinema Club, Lianne La Havas, and Justice. The theme of the concert is Wildlife so organisers are calling on you to “bring out your party beast”. There will be plenty of opportunities with the likes of a 1970s-style roller disco or the Polka Tent “dedicated wholly to the fiddle and the Polka”. We kid you not!
