Their fusion of rave and indie is one of the things that makes them unique, with a new album always eagerly awaited. Fans need not wait much longer
It was one of the most interesting and unexpected surprises of the end of 2013. Without prior notice or announcement, the undisputed queen of sophisticated R & B, Beyonce, released a new self-titled album exclusively online.
She described it as a “visual album” with each of the 14 songs accompanied by a video produced by different directors, with XO entrusted to superstar photographer Terry Richardson. The singer invited an impressive line up of musicians to participate in the project, which has managed to synthesis some of the very best aspects of contemporary urban music.
From soul to funk to hip hop, ‘Beyonce’ encompasses the genius of Pharrell Williams, direct from his work with Daft Punk on ‘Random Access Memories’, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Hit-Boy, while duets include Jay Z on ‘Drunk on Love’, Drake on ‘Mine’, and Frank Ocean on ‘Superpower’.
We are now on tenterhooks waiting for news of Beyonce Live!
